Here are the details for the nation wide premiers of AV07:
AV07 Premier - Johannesburg
Where: Sunninghill Skatepark (Urban X)
When: August 28 · 4:00pm - 8:00pm
Details: Entrance is R30 and that gets you a copy of the new DVD, a skate session, popcorn and snacks.
AV07 Premier - Cape Town
Where: Sport Unlimited Shop, 5&6 Block, 2 South Palm Centre, Main Road, Tokai, Cape Town
When: August 28 · 7:00pm - 9:00pm
Details: Entrance is Free. There will be free popcorn and there will be cooldrinks, water, beer etc to purchase. Bring something to sit on (camping chairs etc). Everything in store will be Less 25% for that evening 6-9pm! Skate sessions available in the new park so come early if you want to get a session in.
AV07 Premier - Durban
Where: Revolution Skatepark, Pavillion
When: August 28 · 3:00pm - 7:00pm
Details: The park is having a Team Search event all day, with a game of SKATE at 1 and a Transworld screening at 5, so guys can do a game of SKATE, then watch the AV vid, then skate again.
AV07 Premier - Soweto
Where: Pimville Skatepark, Soweto
When: August 28 · 2:00pm - 6:00pm
Details: Entrance is R10 and gets you a copy of the new DVD, a skate session, popcorn and redbull.

International Skate Film Festival Announces its Debut in California
The first annual L.A. Skate Film Festival was created to focus on the filmmakers, directors and artists within Skateboarding, the lifestyle that cultivated the idea of “brand movies” and “lifestyle documentaries.”
For the first time Los Angeles, the birthplace of Skateboarding, will host this International skate film festival dedicated to the best films and the people behind them. The L.A. Skate Film Festival will focus on eight featured categories including: U.S. Film, International Film, Independent Film, Documentary, Skate Shop Video, Emerging Filmmaker, Commercial and Classic.
Behind the scenes awards will also be given out in the categories of Best Photography, Best Editing, Best Soundtrack, Best Intro and Best Skit.
AV Skateboarding will be representing South Africa in the International catagory... stay tuned here to see how we do! Any other SA filmmakers who would like to be involved shoud check out the information below.
Submissions are now open via http://www.withoutabox.com or the festival’s website. Selected submissions will be sent to a panel of judges including skateboarding legend C.R. Stecyk and French filmmaker Fred Mortagne.
A Film Festival without an Academy composed of some of the best filmmakers and most influential people in the industry would be nonsense. Therefore, the Festival has been gathering – and will keep on doing so in the future – the most pertinent and influential personalities who, by their expertise, knowledge of the industry and the way they perceive the different stages of skateboarding will keep the Festival on its toes whenever creativity is concerned.
Part of the Academy members’ role will be to nominate the judges and define the criteria of judgment amongst other activities.
Ultimately, the Academy serves as the foundation for the Festival long-term and global vision.

Funisu Skateboards is a company that aims to inspire, we are more then a board company and we do more then sell boards. The first store we are working with is the Munks Concepts Store, we are taking our time in introducing the brand making our relationships with stores grow organically.
